COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Five Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) clubs have been awarded Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants, which will provide the approved clubs with funds needed to support equipment, supply and coaching certification costs.
The five clubs who have been awarded grants noted their excitement about being selected: "Thanks to the USA Archery JOAD Grant, we have been able to purchase target butts and stands; this summer we will now be able to start teaching the outdoor distances. We would not have been able to offer this to our members without your help," noted Lynda LeCompte of Pearland Archery Club.
"Our ability to host outdoor tournaments will greatly help the statewide archery community with more opportunities to compete," noted Garth Hoff of Woodlands JOAD, one of the recipient clubs. "[This] will also help generate much needed funds to support our rapidly growing club."
The following clubs were awarded grants during this cycle:
Music City Archery - Nashville, TN
Backyard Archery -Linn, Mo
Pearland Archery Club - Pearland, TX
Woodland JOAD - Conroe, TX
Granite City JOAD - Foley, MN
The Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants are made possible thanks to archery legend Ann Hoyt and current supporter of youth archery Jim Easton. Contributions from the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund and the Easton Sports Development Foundation allow JOAD clubs to request funds for items such as target bales, stands, archery equipment, general supplies, and coaching certifications.
"Equipment that was requested is part of a master list of items that we need to continue to provide safe and enjoyable archery training at an affordable price," noted Granite City JOAD. "Keeping our costs low enable more youth to continue to participate and be involved."
