Manassas, VA - The 2023 Virginia State Indoor and JOAD Championships was a great success with 213 archers competing for top spots at the Freedom Aquatics & Fitness Center (FAFC) in Manassas, VA. This was the first state championship at this venue and the archers loved it!
There was tough competition for the state title in the double 60-arrow event. The Recurve Senior Women’s division had 9 competitors with Eunice Choi winning with an 1106. Recurve U18 Men saw 10 competitors vying for gold with Chris Rhee winning with an impressive 1123. The Recurve U18 Women’s division saw Elizabeth Ahn take the top spot shooting 1081 against 11 competitors.
The JOAD Indoor State Championship was hosted concurrently at the same venue. The Recurve U18 Women’s division saw 13 competitors, with Lily Lin taking the win with a 535.
FFX Archery hosted the event, with assistance from Wilcox JOAD. Steve Elkins of FFX Archery commented “This was our first year hosting the VA State Indoor Championships at the Freedom Aquatics & Fitness Center in Manassas, VA. The staff at FAFC provided outstanding support. The feedback that we’ve received on the venue has been extremely positive, and we’re looking forward to another great event in 2024.”
