USA Archery recently held a design contest for archers and fans to create t-shirt ideas for the USA Archery store. Talented and passionate archery lovers put forth an incredible pool of submissions and fans voted on top choices to select three designs that will be available for purchase through the fall.
USA Archery is grateful for the time and effort these designers put into creating some really cool concepts that showcase their love of the sport. We are thankful also for the thousands of you who voted and participated in the contest – we can’t wait to see you wear your favorite designs at your next practice!
Contest winner Chad Ashworth (Malden, Massachusetts) created unique logos to represent the events in the USAT series “to be inclusive of everything USA Archery does and all the people who participate”. Ashworth has been in graphic design for over 25 years and has a passion for archery on a recreational level: “I shot archery years ago but when I had children I took a break but came back to it a few years ago. I don’t shoot in competitions but enjoy shooting with my son.”
Runner-up, 15-year-old Oumayma Dakhama (North Andover, Massachusetts), said she created her design “to lift people’s spirits during this difficult time, considering the outdoor season stall.” Dakhama, a graphic design student who shot compound competitively until high school, chose to focus on summer and the outdoor season with a tie-dye inspired design.
Second Runner-up, 14-year-old Sawyer Hamilton (Okemos, Michigan) shared: “I really like the idea of a target on a shirt and I wanted to do something that included everyone’s interests.” Hamilton started archery in the 5th grade and then began JOAD in 6th grade. He is looking forward to his first season of competition.
Check out the winning creation, now available for a limited time in the USA Archery store.
