COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The USAT Series shifts to southern California next week with the SoCal Showdown in Chula Vista. This is the third of four USAT events, following Arizona Cup and Gator Cup, but just one of many national competitions coming up in the next few months.
When registration closed for the event over the weekend, there were almost 750 entrants, with competition from June 9-11 at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence inside the Olympic Training Center campus.
Though has closed for the SoCal Showdown, registration remains open for the 2023 Field Nationals, the JOAD Target Nationals and the Buckeye Classic.
Among those competing at the USA Archery Field Nationals, in the idyllic surroundings of Darrington, WA, will be world stars Brady Ellison, Toja Ellison and Paige Pearce. The Field Nationals is shot in a rural setting with uneven terrain and natural obstacles. The format will include unmarked and marked rounds in recurve, compound and barebow divisions.
JOAD Target Nationals takes place in Des Moines, IA, for the first time since 2010. The field will include archers fresh from the World Archery Youth Championships in Limerick, Ireland. The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Target Nationals, from July 12-16, is open to youth archers in the recurve, compound and barebow divisions.
This year's USAT Series concludes with the Buckeye Classic from July 28-30. This is staged in Dublin, OH, the city which this week hosts golf’s prestigious Memorial Tournament.
The United States Archery Team (USAT) Qualifier Series are outdoor archery tournaments and open to archers who are seeking national competition experience and want the excitement of competing alongside World Champions and Olympic medalists.
