This is an historic event which has produced record-breaking performances in recent times. The 136th edition, in 2020, saw James Lutz set a new world’s best in the compound men’s division. There were also world records that year for Brady Ellison and Jack Williams in the senior and U21 double 70m round.
Lutz improved on his 1422/1440 tally in last year’s Outdoor Nationals, with the current world record now sitting at 1424. Ellison has since improved on his score of 1356/1440 three times. That record now sits at 1378.
The last time this event formed part of the U.S. Team Trials for the Olympic Games was in 2019, when staged in Dublin, OH.
