Four slots confirmed by USA archers for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Four slots for the Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025 were secured by the USA at the final qualifying event in Argentina, which also included a compound mixed team gold.

Heading into the 2nd Qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games, the USA were without a single archer confirmed for the event in Paraguay from August 9-23, which is expected to attract more than 4,000 athletes from 41 countries.

The first two quota slots were secured by Sergio Garcia and Lanie Nish while claiming gold in the compound mixed team event.

That was followed on Saturday by Chanyoung Mun in recurve men. The 17-year-old - recurve U18 men gold medalist at the 2024 JOAD Target Nationals & JOAD U.S. Open - earned a third spot for the USA after finishing sixth in recurve U21 men.

Gabrielle Sasai – a bronze medalist at the 2024 USA Archery Target Nationals – sealed the fourth and final slot with an eighth-place finish in recurve U21 women.

All four members of the USA team competing in Argentina last week returned home having achieved what they set out to do in booking four slots for the Junior Pan American Games later this year.

Trials for the Jr Pan Am Games U.S. Team will take place at the Easton Newberry Archery Center on April 23, immediately prior to the Easton Foundations Gator Cup, the second the four USAT Series Qualifier events. Registration remains open until April 11 for the World Youth Championships (U21 & U18) and Jr. Pan Am Games (U21) Trials.
