USA Archery remains committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the archery community. With the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, there continues to be great uncertainty as confirmed cases in the U.S. keep increasing. USA Archery is closely monitoring CDC guidelines and reiterate that you should adhere to the recommendations and orders of public health authorities. Please continue to do what is necessary to keep you and your family safe.
There are many questions regarding USA Archery’s National Events schedule and the World Archery events schedule, and we appreciate your patience as we all work to sort out options with continued uncertainty on the calendar.
The international archery community is taking the same cues from public health authorities. The Olympic Games have officially been postponed to July 23-August 8, 2021 and the Paralympic Games have been pushed to August 24-September 5, 2021. With these recently announced dates, World Archery will be able to confirm last chance qualifiers and rebuild the 2020 and 2021 international events calendars.
World Cup Berlin has officially been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. World Cups 1, 2 and the World Cup Final are not yet confirmed. It is not known whether or not they will be postponed to later this year, but World Archery has canceled all international events through June 30. World Archery will also not be accepting World Record Claims through June 30.
As of today, the Para World Ranking Event Nove Mesto (CZE) has been rescheduled to July.
USA Archery works to keep our National Events Calendar from overlapping World Archery events and we typically coordinate with the NFAA and ASA too. The next event on our calendar is the USAT Series’ Gator Cup, which is still two months away. We are actively in conversation with the USAT event hosts and organizers about the feasibility of holding the remaining events as planned as we monitor potential new dates for world cups and evaluate any USAT event changes that may need to be made. We hope to know more in the next few weeks and will continue to keep you informed as the situation unfolds.
USA Archery’s goal will be to reschedule events where possible, rather than cancelling, as we have heard from so many of our members the desire and urge to compete again. The Arizona Cup has been rescheduled for Oct. 23-25, 2020 and should cap the USA Archery outdoor national events season.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to sort through options and bring you the best possible competition season.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. Stay healthy and safe!
