EAGLE LAKE, Texas - Unofficial results have been released for the U.S. National Field Championships, pending final verification. Archers from across the country enjoyed ideal weather conditions at the Blaschke Exotic Deer Farm, where they shot one day of field archery targets at unmarked distances, followed by a day of shooting targets placed at marked distances.
Tomorrow, the action continues with the U.S. Team Trials for the World Archery Field Championships. This event will select the team of archers who will represent the United States in Zagreb, Croatia later this year.
The U.S. National Field Championships, which offered the fun of uphill and downhill angles and varying distances to shoot, was a family affair for several. Five members of the Trafford family competed, as well as brothers Devin and Dylan Oblander, three members of the Yamaguchi family and the Vandenberghs.
Pending final verification, the following National Field Champions have been crowned, and complete unofficial results may be downloaded here. The Texas State Archery Association, which hosted the event, has posted hundreds of photos taken by Coach Ron Carmichael, which may be viewed on Facebook.
