Colorado Springs, CO - USA Archery (USAA) has announced that a Special Election will take place to fill a new USAA Board of Directors position (formerly Grassroots - Collegiate Director). There is one USAA Board of Directors position available for 2012 election by specific USAA membership categories as follows:
Grassroots - Non JOAD: Nominations for directorship requires endorsement by a leader of a Non Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) club, in good standing with USAA.

The term of office for the USAA Board of Director Grassroots (Non JOAD Club) is through 2013. The USAA Board of Directors shall represent the interests of the archery community for USAA in the United States and its athletes by providing USAA with policy, guidance and strategic direction. The Board focuses on long-term objectives and impacts, while the Chief Executive Officer and staff focus on day-to-day management. In addition, the Board performs the following specific functions, among others:

USA Archery members must be citizens of the United States and be eighteen years of age or older to vote. USA Archery membership and membership category selection is required a minimum of 60 days prior to the balloting. This special election is expected to take place in spring 2012.
We recommend that Non JOAD clubs check membership status and new USAA Non JOAD club membership be executed by the end of January to ensure spring voting eligibility.
