USA Archery Names New JOAD and Collegiate Archery Program Committee Representatives

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is pleased to announce new members of our Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) and Collegiate Archery Program Committees.

The JOAD Committee is comprised of four Regional Coordinators and one Athlete Representative. Members serve a term of 2 years and alternating positions are up for election each year. The North, West, and Athlete Representative positions were up for election for the 2016-2017 term. USA Archery extends our sincerest gratitude to outgoing members John Stover (North Region Representative) and Mackenzie Brown (Athlete Representative) for multiple years of service on the committee.

The individuals elected for the 2016-2017 term represent a diverse and highly qualified group:

  • North: Willis Stevenson, USA Archery Level 3-NTS certified coach and Director and Coach of Archery Acres Academy in Indiana  
  • West: Mike Cullumber, re-elected to this position, Judge Director on the USA Archery Board of Directors, Level 4-NTS coach, USA Archery National Judge, and Director of Paseo Vista Archery Club in Arizona
  • Athlete: Ryan Oliver, accomplished archer in the JOAD program, member of the Recurve Junior Dream Team, and member of the 2016 Cadet USAT Team.

For 2016 USA Archery is establishing a Collegiate Archery Program Committee that will also be comprised of four Regional Coordinators and an Athlete Representative. We are excited to announce the following inaugural committee members:

  • East: E.G. LeBre, coach of archery teams at Wellesley College, Brandeis University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
  • North: Glen Bennett, coach of Michigan State University Archery Team
  • South: Rodney Estrada, coach at Emmanuel College and Georgia Institute of Technology
  • West: Sandra Childress, Alumni Advisor for University of Arizona Archery Team
  • Athlete Representative: Jason Tong, member of University of California, San Diego Archery Team

Both JOAD and Collegiate Archery Program Committee members serve as a valuable liaison between USA Archery clubs and staff and are important resources to club leaders in their respective regions. Club leaders are welcome to contact committee members with program feedback, to share challenges as well as successes, and to learn more about local, state, regional, and national event opportunities.
