COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is closing a great Indoor State Championship season. We had 35 JOAD Indoor State and State Championship events sanctioned in 28 states across America. State Championships can be a great first tournament experience, or the perfect warm-up for a larger national event, and are conducted in a fun atmosphere where you can make and see friends from other archery clubs in your state.
On behalf of the Illinois Target Archery Association, state association president Tony Kapp shared: "With around 300 participants, Illinois's state championship tournaments were bursting at the seams. The introduction of electronic scoring this year was a big hit. The JOAD State Championship tournament saw strong barebow performances impact the winner of the club competition. That whole division is growing."
Kapp added: "The all-ages State Championship saw several youth shooters come into their own as competitive against the adults, and after two days, some categories were only won by a single point! In that weekend, around a dozen new records were set!"
