COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is pleased to announce the 2017 Collegiate Grant Program. Thanks to generous contributions from Easton Foundations, USA Archery Collegiate Archery Program Clubs can apply for grant dollars for equipment, travel, and instructor and coach certification and development. Greg Sammons of Alfred State College shared how a 2016 Collegiate Program Grant helped his club: "As a new archery club still building our foundation, our greatest challenge was matching the available resources to team member enthusiasm. The generosity of the USA Archery's grant has helped our club make critical range improvements including much-needed new targets, a more functional bow rack, and much-needed left-handed beginner equipment. Receiving this grant award clearly demonstrated USA Archery's commitment to helping advance collegiate archery and affirmed why we're proud to be affiliated as a club."
Katherine Kim of UC Davis added: "Without the grant, our club would have struggled to accommodate the enormous interest in our campus community. Just two years ago, our club started with only five bows and unfortunately we often had to turn away many eager new faces. The grant has given us the means to acquire more beginner bows and mat stands, which has enabled us to continue sharing the sport that we love to the campus community."
Due to the growth USA Archery has seen in the Collegiate Archery Program, high demand will make the grant process competitive, which means clubs should submit complete, well thought out grant applications. All applications are due February 20th, 2017, and late applications will not be accepted.
