COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - The success of World Archery America's Para Mail Match has grown as participation has increased and the most recent installment continues to see U.S. archers top almost every category of competition.
Paralympic Champion Andre Shelby and Ben Thompson locked up the top two spots of the compound open men's division with a 695 and 693, while Lance Thornton was just behind with a 681. Also making the top 10 were Richard Burkett, Jeff Sena and Sam Boyles, who came in 8th, 9th and 10th respectively with 673, 671 and 669.
Paralympian Michael Lukow was the high scorer in the Recurve Open Men's division with a strong 651, while Timothy Palumbo was 3rd with a 605 and Kevin Mather ranked 6th with a 580.
On the W1 side, Paralympic Champion Jeff Fabry took the top spot by a tremendous margin, more than 50 points clear the rest of the field with a 648. Jerry Shields and Chuck Lear came in 3rd and 4th with 576 and 568.
Lia Coryell and Babette Peyton were the top two scorers for the W1 women's division with an outstanding 563 for Coryell and a 275 for Peyton.
Compound Open Women saw Teresa Wallace as the highest U.S. scorer, 3rd overall with a 652. Martha Chavez and R. Silver Becerra finished 3rd and 7th with 652 and 462 respectively.
