USAA is pleased to announce a grant program that will benefit USAA Junior Olympic Archery Develop (JOAD) Clubs. The grants are designed to help JOAD Clubs obtain items that will support their equipment and coach certification needs.
The Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant Program is being made possible by archery legend Ann Hoyt and current supporter of youth archery, Jim Easton. Through contributions from the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund, the Easton Sports Development Foundation, and contributions from the NAA Foundation, JOAD Clubs can request funds for such items as target butts, target stands, archery equipment and coaching certifications. A total of $40,000 is being made available for 2011.
"JOAD Clubs have equipment and coach certification needs. We understand the difficulties that clubs have in keeping up with those needs," explained Diane Watson, USAA JOAD Coordinator. "It's great news that we have been given the resources to help new and established programs to grow and thrive."
The grants will be made available quarterly and will be administered through USA Archery and the JOAD Committee.
Grant requests should not exceed $5,000 and applicants do not need to be a qualified 501(c)3 organization in order to receive grant funding; however, they do need to be an active JOAD Club. Requests may be submitted at any time. USA Archery will review grants once per quarter. Applications will be reviewed March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1.
