Coach of the Year Nominations Now Open

Whether you are just starting out in archery or you have been shooting for a long time, there has probably been a coach or instructor that has made a big impact in your archery progress.  Now is the time to think about recognizing that special person.

Each year USA Archery, in conjunction with the U.S. Olympic Committee, honors coaches in 5 different categories.  All nominees are considered based on accomplishments for the 2013 year and must be currently coaching athletes or within the first year of their retirement.

National Coach: Coach of an Elite Level Club, Collegiate, Pan Am, World Championship or Olympic Games coach or the coach of an elite athlete who competes at the highest level of our sport.

Each NGB National Coach of the Year and will be eligible for the  USOC National Coach of the Year award.  

Developmental Coach: Coach of a youth club, high school or junior �level coach, or a coach directly responsible for coaching athletes to the junior and/or elite level. 

Volunteer Coach:

Coach who does not receive payment in any form for their involvement in coaching at any level.  

Paralympic Coach:

Coach of an Elite Level Club, Collegiate, Pan �Am, World Championship, Olympic or Paralympic Games coach or the coach of an elite athlete who competes at the highest level of our sport. 

Doc Counsilman Science Award:

Coach that utilizes scientific techniques/equipment as an integral part of his/her coaching methods, or has created innovative ways to use sport science.  The "use of science in sport" includes, but is not limited to, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology, technology, strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, etc.
