Level 2 Practical at 2024 FFR at Beaumont Scout Reservation

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION TO OBTAIN THE USA ARCHERY LEVEL 2 ARCHERY CERTIFICATION AT BEAUMONT SCOUT RESERVATION DURING 2024 FALL FUN RALLY

Course requirements consist of a $50 USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online class (Course Information and Registration) and Level 2 Practical exam by a USA Archery Instructor Trainer. Once both course segments are completed, participants may download their official USA Archery Level 2 Instructor certificate which is valid for three years and is renewable on the USA Archery website. 

The USA Archery Level 2 certification includes the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development and events.

Successful completion of the USA Archery Level 2 Course offers all USA Archery Level 1 benefits as well as eligibility to take the Instructor Trainer Certification Course, qualifications for Lead Instructor for advanced archery programs as well as USA Archery insurance coverage for qualified programs.

A twelve-hour Practical Level 2 class will be made available at Beaumont Scout Reservation during Fall Fun Rally on Saturday September 21 from 8:30 AM -5:30 PM and Sunday 8:30-11:30 AM by Jimmie James, a USA Archery Level 3 Coach and Instructor Trainer. Previous archery experience or USA Archery Level 1 is not required for Level 2 course participants. 

Students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online course and register and complete the "in-person" USA Archery Level 2 Instructor practical course.  The Level 2 Instructor certification which is valid for three years and is renewable online with USA Archery. 

To receive final credit for the USA Archery Level 2 course, newly qualified Level 2 instructors must have successfully completed the following:  Current U.S. Center for SafeSport training (free), Current USA Archery Background Screening ($35 for two years) and a Current USA Archery ($70 annually) or National Field Archery Association membership.

The USA Archery Level 2 course will be taught in two sequential parts:

(1)   A six-hour, USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online Course completed prior to the Practical and 

(2)   An eight-to-twelve hour “in-person” Practical portion reserved through USA Archery (See links below). The Practical course is for students who have completed their USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Online Course. Upon successful completion of the online course, students may then register for this in-person Practical Course. Minimum age is 18. 

 

This Practical course is offered at a cost of $50 for registered Scout Leaders and $150 for non-scout registered adults ($50 online and $100 balance due prior to the beginning of class).
