Level 2 Archery Instructor Practical -- Schmidt

USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification Practical is an in-person course and is only taken after successfully completing the USA Archery Online Level 2 Instructor Training.

The USA Archery Instructor Practical is designed to enable the Level 2 Instructor candidate to demonstrate those archery skills required to be a Certified Level 1 and Level 2 Instructor.  Candidates will be required to demonstrate:

Level 1 Skills

• ·         Practical application of Range Safety (indoor and outdoor)
• ·         Demonstrate NTS Steps to Shoot a Recurve Bow
• ·         Demonstrate an ability to safely shoot a bow with consistency
• ·         Capable of teaching basic archery skills to a group or individual.
• ·         Demonstrate outfitting an archery class.
• ·         Capable of using coaching techniques to identify form issues and provide positive and direct feedback.

Level 2 Skills

• ·         Ability to outfit an archer with equipment and accessories.
• ·         Demonstrate and explain the National Training System Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound
• ·         Demonstrate ability to instruct an individual or group archery skills
• ·         Knowledge of equipment setup and maintenance
• ·         Capable of putting together a series of archery lessons that can be applied to an archery program.
• ·         Capable of using advanced coaching techniques to identify form issues and provide positive and direct feedback.

Please bring your own equipment or your program equipment.  If you do not have access to archery equipment, please inform the practical instructor so arrangements to have equipment available can be made.

Course Information

Course Date:  October 19, 2024

Course Start Time: 8:00 AM.

•                 Instructor candidates should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.

Course End Time: 5:00 PM

Certification Period: Three years from the date of course completion

Level 2 instructor candidates must successfully complete all sections of the Level 1 Practical and all sections of the Level 2 Practical to be granted USA Archery Level 2 Certification.

All Level 2 Practical participants must attend both the Level 1 and Level 2 instruction to meet certification requirements.

All Course participants must bring archery equipment and it is recommended to bring a lunch for the day.  If you will need to have equipment available for your use at the practical, please notify the practical instructor so arrangements for equipment can be made.

Prerequisites

·         Minimum Age: 18

·         Successfully passed the USA Archery Online Instructor Training with a minimum score of 75%

·         Membership to USA Archery or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)

·         U.S. Center for SafeSport Training

Certification Requirements

·         Membership to USA Archery or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) or Archery Association of America (ASA)

·         USA Archery Background Screening

·         U.S. Center for SafeSport Training
