COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Following the September 2018 announcement of intent to merge with the US Collegiate Archery Association (USCA), USA Archery is excited to announce that the two organized have finalized the details of the merger, effective immediately.
Moving forward, all schools will compete in USA Archery’s Collegiate Archery Program and participating individuals and teams will be members of USA Archery.
USA Archery CEO Rod Menzer shared: “USA Archery is pleased to bring together a singular, dedicated organization, focused on driving collegiate archery to the next level. This merger will unite and grow collegiate archery across the nation and we are very excited to best serve collegiate members and schools.”
The goal of the merger is to provide increased archery opportunities at the collegiate level, including generating scholarships, growing the number of varsity teams and club programs, producing improved resources, support and educational materials, and much more!
USA Archery sanctions many local, state and regional tournaments and hosts a series of national events each year for indoor, outdoor, field and 3D archery for collegiate student athletes.
As the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of archery, USA Archery is also the organization responsible for selecting a team to represent the United States in the World University Games. This biannual multi-sport competition will be held in Italy in 2019. It is our vision that with a strong and united Collegiate Archery Program in place, we will put forth the best possible U.S. collegiate team to compete in this event.
USA Archery appreciates the great efforts our archers make to aim higher in both the classroom and on the archery field. We celebrate top student-athletes with awards including All-Region, All-American, and All-American Academic team honors. Archers named to the All-American team receive special benefits and discounts from USA Archery sponsors.
In the following days, USA Archery will be communicating details of the merger and directions to move forward with all current collegiate teams and archers.
