COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is pleased to announce that the fourth USAT Series Event this summer will return to the northeast region of our country. Ace Archers Club of Columbus was awarded the bid and will host the inaugural Buckeye Classic in Dublin, Ohio on August 26-28.
Chris Worthen, President of Ace Archers commented: "We are very excited for the opportunity to bring a USAT event to Dublin. This is something we have been working towards for several years as the sport has grown. The venue is top notch and the support we have is expansive. We look forward to working closely with USA Archery to provide a great tournament experience."
USA Archery National Events Manager Sheri Rhodes shared the excitement: "We were very impressed by the bid the club submitted. After speaking with the event organizers on a site visit, we were very happy to see the depth of their organization, and that they had a lot of different people take part and they all really came together to get things done. The facility is something our membership will be really pleased with."
She added: "The event will be well budgeted and Chris has a good handle on the business end of running an archery tournament. He provided letters of support from the local community and has proven success in hosting both local and state tournaments. USA Archery is very excited to award Columbus ACE Archers this event and to work together on making this a great tournament."
"We are pleased that USA Archery has selected Dublin as the site for one of its qualifying events for the national team," said Scott Dring, executive director at the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau. "It will be exciting for the City of Dublin to host this prestigious event that will have a great impact on the local economy while showcasing our great city to visitors from across the nation."
