COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - USA Archery welcomes Diane Watson as the new USAA JOAD Coordinator. Watson has 25 years of archery knowledge in both recurve and compound disciplines. She came up through the JOAD program, ultimately achieving her Olympian status, and founded the Tampa Bay Hot Shots JOAD club in Tampa, Florida. She is also the current coach of the Sunshine State Archers JOAD Club in Tampa. For the past five years, Watson has worked for Precision Shooting Equipment, Inc. (PSE) in the marketing department.
An accomplished archer, Watson is a member of the 2009 World Championship Team representing the USA in Korea this September, and recently was a member of the Gold Medal winning women's compound team at the World Cup event in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
"Diane brings with her the perfect blend of general archery knowledge, JOAD experience and relationships from within the industry to push the JOAD program to the next level," says USA Archery CEO Denise Parker. "She has the understanding of where JOAD is deficient and where there is incredible opportunity. I am certain she will help us capitalize on a very good opportunity to grow the program."
Watson will undertake some very important program development work. Introductory programs such as the Olympic Archery in the Schools, After School Archery Program, National Archery in the Schools Program, 4H, Scouts and a variety of other programs has resulted in literally thousands of youth and their families seeking a home to further develop their newly found archery skills. With Watson's help, USAA will meet the challenge of developing more full time archery clubs to serve the archery community at large.

The hiring of a JOAD Coordinator was made possible through the use of the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund, recognizing the contribution made to the JOAD program by Ann Hoyt. Travel support for the position is funded by Easton Foundation.
