COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sheri Rhodes, who has previously worked as USA Archery's Coach Development Manager, has accepted a position as the organization's National Events Manager. In her new role, Rhodes will oversee the coordination and organization of USA Archery's national events.
Rhodes brings a wealth of event management experience to her new position. In addition to being a Continental Judge, Rhodes has served as a Technical Delegate to World Archery at many international competitions, and was the Competition Manager at the 1996 Olympic Games. She has also been the Tournament Director for many domestic events, including serving as co-Director of the recent 2013 US National Target Championships and Easton JOAD Nationals.
"We are pleased to have Sheri step into this role," comments Denise Parker, USA Archery CEO. "Her strong technical knowledge of the sport of archery and high-level event management experience will help USA Archery to meet the competition needs of its growing constituency."
Rhodes holds a Masters Degree in Education from Arizona State University, and her experience outside of archery includes working as Director of Operations for the Sacramento Sports Commission, in which she managed the Olympic Team Trials for U.S. Track & Field and the National Championships for USA Gymnastics.
"I am excited to be able to help grow archery from another facet within our organization," Rhodes said. "I have always had a passion for event management and look forward to the challenges this position will bring."
Rhodes will transition from her current role as Coach Development Manager into
the National Events Manager position as of August 16.
