Colorado Springs, CO - USA Archery announces the election for members of the organization's Board of Directors. Applicable USAA members and clubs will vote by mail in October to elect three board members. Ballots have been mailed to individual members that selected the "Judges" voting category in their online USA Archery Membership Services System, all "JOAD" clubs will receive a JOAD ballot and an "At large" ballot was sent to all individual members that selected the "At Large" voting category and adult, (non JOAD) clubs. The USOC Audit Division will conduct the vote count and maintain confidentiality. Voting ballots must be received by the USOC no later than November 1, 2011.
Each candidate applied for board service and was vetted for qualifications by the USA Archery Nomination and Governance Committee. Qualified candidates successfully passed a background check and provided a candidate statement. The Nominating and Governance Committee will select an Independent director. Each director serves a four-year term.

"This is the third board of directors selection election after USAA bylaws reorganization. The process is continues to improve with technology," notes Bob Pian, Chair of the USA Archery Nominating and Governance Committee. The membership will elect coach and grassroots category directors in 2013. Athletes category members select the athlete directors.
"Members are encouraged to volunteer, serve on committees and task forces, become judges, instructors, coaches and club leaders in addition to applying for BOD candidacy," Pian explains.
