BERLIN, Germany – The USA recurve men’s team, anchored by World Champion Brady Ellison, claimed its second consecutive bronze finish on the world cup circuit today. Jack Williams and Matt Requa joined Ellison in earning this victory in a critical location.
While the USA recurve men are ranked 5th in the world, they have yet to qualify a full team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The June 2020 World Cup in Berlin will be their last chance to earn the full three quota places, and they’ll need to repeat this win with a top three finish to do so. Returning next year with happy memories of a solid performance should be a good confidence boost.
With strong scores, the team averaged more than 55 points per set, well outshooting Canada to win 6-2.
