NOVE MESTO, Czech Republic – The Para World Ranking Event individual elimination matches saw tough matchups for Team USA, but three U.S. archers are through to medal matches and the teams are in strong contention for tomorrow.
World Champion Ben Thompson and World bronze medalist Matt Stutzman qualified well in tricky winds. Stutzman had a massive ten point jump in the second half to take the pole position, while Thompson was 3rd. The two shot well in matches today and will go head to head for bronze in this Saturday’s finals.
W1 archer Lia Coryell qualified 6thand took out the 3rdseed Ok Geum Kim of Korea 120-119 in the quarterfinals before falling 134-117 in the semifinals. Coryell will shoot for bronze against Italy’s Asia Pellizzari.
