USA Archery Presents Slate for 2021 Board of Directors Election

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - 2021 is a Board of Directors election year for USA Archery. This past February, USA Archery began soliciting nominations for open positions, and in May, expanded the search to include 5 additional seats in an effort to better expand representation on the board. In addition to the three Independent Director seats that are selected by USA Archery’s Nominating & Governance Committee, (N&GC), the Grassroots (non-JOAD), Coach, Para Athlete and two At Large-Athlete Director seats are open for election.

The USA Archery Nominating and Governance Committee completed the 2021 USA Archery Board of Directors tentative candidate selection process, authorized candidates' background checks, collected supporting documentation and reviewed ballot preparation. The ballots and voting instructions will be sent to all eligible USA Archery members and clubs that are on file via e-mail when the election opens on Tuesday, October 5th. Those members who do not have an e-mail address will receive their ballot by USPS mail. Eligible voting members will have until 5pm MT on Wednesday, November 3rd to cast their ballots via the Election America electronic voting service.

Coach Director

Coach Director voter requirements:

• Must have a “current” status individual membership as of September 19, 2021 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Individual must hold a current certification (L2 and higher) as of September 19, 2021;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Must be 18 years or older as of October 5, 2021 when the election opens.

Grassroots (Non-JOAD) Director

Grassroots (Non-JOAD Club) voter requirements:

• The identified Primary Contact of an Adult (or “Both”) or Collegiate Club with a club membership current as of September 19, 2021;
• The Club’s Primary Contact must have a “current” status individual USA Archery membership as of September 19, 2021 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Primary Contact must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Primary Contact must be 18 years or older as of October 5, 2021 when the election opens.

At-Large Athlete Director two seats to be filled; athlete elected with highest number of votes will serve a 4-year term and athlete elected with second highest number of votes will serve an initial term of 2 years to implement staggering of terms):

• Brady Ellison
• Lexi Keller

At-Large Athlete voter requirements:

• Must meet the “Eligible Athlete” criteria noted in Sections 11.2 and 11.11 of USAA Bylaws;
• Must have a “current” status individual membership as of September 19, 2021 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Must be 18 years or older as of October 5, 2021 when the election opens.

Para Athlete Director

• Eric Bennett
• Kevin Mather

Para Athlete Director voter requirements:

• Must be a para athlete who meets the “Eligible Athlete” qualifications as noted in Section 11.11 of the USAA Bylaws;
• Must have a “current” status individual membership as of September 19, 2021 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Must be 18 years or older as of October 5, 2021 when the election opens.

It is important for all eligible members to participate in this process. The N&GC volunteered their time in reviewing the candidates and providing the necessary steps in the election.

The election process enables members to have a voice and input on USA Archery and all eligible members should exercise this right."
