COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is excited to announce additional updates to the USA Archery Coach Certification Program. Building upon the online course offerings that were introduced last year for Level 1 and Level 2 Instructors, a new USA Archery Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course, Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Refresher Course, and Level 3-NTS Coach Trainer Course are now available online.
Students will complete the USA Archery Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Online Course within the USA Archery Education Hub at their own pace. Upon successful completion of the course, students will register for an in-person Practical Course, instructed by Level 3-NTS Coach Trainers.
The new Level 3-NTS Coach Certification focuses on developing coaches who can utilize evidence-based coaching and teaching methods, understand the finer details and concepts of the National Training System for both Recurve and Compound, and provide organized and effective training programs. Students in the Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course and in-person practical course will be introduced to quality coaching, motor learning theory, coaching methods, feedback methods, the National Training System for Compound and Recurve, the mental process, movement analysis, training theory and design, athlete development, coaching philosophy, and coach development.
In addition, the Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Refresher Online Course will help keep coaches up to date with the current course content. Certifications will automatically be extended for three years upon successful completion of the Refresher Course.
USA Archery Education and Training Manager, Guy Krueger explains, “Coaching is an important responsibility, and we really want our coaches to be knowledgeable of best practices utilized in coaching and to provide excellent coaching and service to athletes. The new curriculum will put coaches in a position to elevate their coaching skills and ultimately take their athletes to the next level.”
