COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Archery, in partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and thanks to a generous grant from the Toyota U.S. Paralympic Fund, is excited to announce the second annual Para Talent ID Camp taking place in Salt Lake City, UT October 13-14.
The Para Talent ID Camp agenda will include educating archers about how to make the Para United States Archery Team and provide expert coaching guidance for how to set goals and develop as a Para athlete.
Participants will be introduced to USA Archery’s Junior Olympic Archery Development Program and Collegiate Archery Program, adaptive equipment and resources, coaches, competition opportunities and more.
Keira Cromwell attended the Para Talent ID camp in 2022. She commented, “The camp was everything I could’ve dreamed of and so much more than I expected.
“It was so great meeting likeminded individuals around my age, especially since back at home most are either way younger or way older. I learned great insights and techniques to improve myself and improve my goals.”
Michael Stone, one of the parents in attendance at the 2022 camp, added, “The coaches were wonderful. The amount of information that we received was amazing and will be very helpful in planning our next steps, both with shooting and training.”
USA Archery is excited to grow from the success of the 2022 event. This year’s camp will be open to archers of all ages and led by U.S. Paralympic Head Coach Jonathan Clemins.
Archers will be required to either have a current Para Classification or have a classifiable impairment to apply. Archers under 18 years old will be required to bring a parent or guardian for the duration of the camp.
USA Archery will provide a stipend to each athlete to be used for travel expenses to the camp, will provide a hotel room and provide lunch on October 13-14 during the camp.
