BELKNAP, Ill. - Shiloh Butts has the opportunity to do even better at the World Archery 3D Championships after being among 48 archers to qualify for the USA team* for the 2024 edition, to take place in Slovenia September 30-October 6 (pending team acceptance).
Butts was a bronze medal winner when the event was held in Italy two years ago, and posted the top score in longbow men during the two-day trials in Illinois.
There are six team members per discipline, with three men and three women across barebow, compound, longbow and traditional bow.
Among those making the barebow women’s team is Riley Adams, who turns 16 early next month. Returning to the team, having qualified two years ago, are Stephanie Correa (traditional women), Joella Bates (longbow women), Gracelyn Chambers (compound women) and Archie Nixon (traditional men).
Kari Caulfield came out on top in the barebow women, ahead of Katherine Li and Riley Adams, and said, "First place finish! Not too shabby for my first 3D tournament!"
