Those with Olympic ambitions invited to apply to USA Archery's Resident Athlete Program

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - If your goals include representing your country at the 2024 or 2028 Olympic Games, then apply to the Resident Athlete Program today!

USA Archery’s Resident Athlete Program is designed to provide support to athletes who desire to represent the U.S. at the Olympic Games and whom USA Archery (USAA) coaches believe are capable of achieving Olympic Games success.

Selected athletes will be provided room and board at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVEATC), where they will receive premier coaching and training access at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence (EACE). This will include customized/periodized training plans to further develop within USAA’s athlete competencies, as well as access to sport performance personnel specializing in strength and conditioning, mental performance, dietary services, and medical and recovery services.

This program also provides a pathway for elite compound and Para athletes who want to transition to Olympic recurve with the goal of representing the U.S. at the Olympic Games.

USA Archery CEO, Rod Menzer added, “The Resident Athlete Program provides elite coaching, sport performance services, and training access to assist athletes aspiring to make a future Olympic team.

“Proudly, four out of six members of the 2020 Olympic Team trained in the Resident Athlete Program, as did the majority of athletes nominated to the 2016 and 2012 Olympic teams.”

Those who apply will be ranked according to the criteria set forth in the Resident Athlete Program Guide and select athletes will then be invited for a program try-out. Athletes formally selected to the program will be provided a stipend to assist with tournament registration and other expenses.

Athletes interested in applying to the Resident Athlete Program should review the Resident Athlete Program Guide for program eligibility criteria and submit an application form online.

Note: If you are interested in applying, and the National Rankings are not currently live at usarchery.org, you may insert N/A on the application during submission. Athletes may apply to the program at any time during the calendar year. Applications will remain on file for one year from date of application.
