COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The 2020 USA Archery Summer Outdoor Virtual Tournament is a wrap and USA Archery is excited to celebrate the clubs who were safely able to hold events.
Congratulations are in order for members of Central Kentucky JOAD Club, who earned the title of Overall Team Champion, with 32 participating archers! Central Kentucky JOAD cadet compound archer Andrea Thompson valued her experience in the Virtual Tournament, and commented, “The thing I enjoyed most was being around all my friends and not worrying about shooting against higher competition. The virtual tournament helps me prepare for the things I need to work on, like form, grouping, and the weather, which all play a big part of shooting.” Cub recurve archer Braydon Smith added, “The virtual tournaments help me to prepare [for competition] by just relaxing. They also help me focus and to challenge others in my club.”
The results from the 2020 USA Archery Summer Outdoor Virtual Tournament can be found here. Congratulations to all winners, who will receive an award certificate for placing in the top three places in their division or in the team category.
USA Archery selected two archers at random to receive a Rio 2016 Olympic replica jersey signed by Mackenzie Brown. The lucky winners are, Maggie Oradat of Hoover Parks and Recreation, and Easton Beezley of Ozarks Target Archers!
For the Autumn Virtual Tournament, USA Archery hosts a Spirit Award competition. This year, we invite club archers to dress up as their favorite superhero for the event. Clubs may also choose to raise funds or collect canned goods for a local community organization. By giving back to our communities, we can show that USA Archery is an organization of archery superheroes!
As a prize for Spirit Award, USA Archery will send USA Archery caps to two random participants, signed by archery superheroes such as Brady Ellison, Casey Kaufhold, Paige Pearce, and Andre Shelby.
