DUBLIN, Ohio – The fourth and final USAT event of the year, the Buckeye Classic, is fast approaching and there is still time to register!
The United States Archery Team (USAT) Qualifier Series are outdoor archery tournaments that deliver a high level of excitement and competition. They are open to archers seeking national competition experience and who want the excitement of competing alongside World Champions and Olympic medalists.
These events are held at different locations across the country. Already we have witnessed record numbers competing at Arizona Cup, Gator Cup and SoCal Showdown, the three previous stops on the USAT schedule.
Among those due to compete are some of the biggest names in archery, including Braden and Tanja Gellenthien, James and Danelle Wentzel-Lutz, Casey Kaufhold, Paige Pearce and Kevin Mather.
Winners from the SoCal Showdown, such as Charvika Gopi, Susan Bock, Kenneth Brunko, Jacob Robinson, Chanyoung Man, Tamara Fontenot, Bella Otter, Lilie Aguilar, Andrew Van Why, Erin Heyob and Ron Gosnell will be keen to build off their success.
There will also be World Archery Youth Championships gold medalist Sydney Sullenberger in attendance, as well as silver medalists Leann Drake, Gabrielle Sasai and Christian Stoddard, plus Grady Kane, Isaac Sullivan, Carson Krahe and Makenna Proctor, who all returned from Ireland with bronze. For Proctor this is her home event.
Held at Darree Fields Park from July 28-30, the Buckeye Classic begins with a 72-arrow qualification round, followed on day two by elimination round match play for the top 64 archers in each category (division and discipline).
There will be barebow, compound, fixed pins, recurve, para compound, para recurve, para V.I. and para W1 disciplines. USA Archery will live stream the senior gold medal matches across barebow, compound and recurve on the final afternoon.
