CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The 2024 Easton Foundations SoCal Showdown, to be held at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence from June 7-9, is the third of the four United States Archery Team (USAT) Series events to open registration.
Early registration fees run through May 17, with the registration deadline being May 24. Coach credential registration also closes on May 24.
Brady Ellison will be seeking a fourth win in a row, having enjoyed success in the recurve men’s division the last three visits. Casey Kaufhold will be seeking a three-peat, having won gold in the recurve women in 2022 and 2023. She also won in 2020, and was a beaten finalist in ‘21. Susan Bock, in the recurve 50+ women, is also hoping for a hat-trick of wins in 2024.
The same goes for James Lutz and Marcus Cooley, winners the last two years in the compound men and barebow men respectively. Alexis Ruiz got the better of Paige Pearce in the compound women in 2023; Pearce has been silver medalist since 2020, having claimed gold a year earlier.
Record numbers gathered in southern California last year, with almost 750 in attendance. The SoCal Showdown is the third of the four USAT Series events, with registration also open for Arizona Cup and Gator Cup. The fourth and final USAT Series event is the Buckeye Classic, which takes place in Dublin, Ohio from July 26-28.
