PHOENIX, Ariz. – Registration for the first USAT Series Qualifier event of 2024 is now open, with next year’s AAE Arizona Cup extended to a four-day event due to Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Event U.S. Team Trials.
The best archers from across the country will converge on the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in north Phoenix, with competition from April 4-7. As well as being a USAT (United States Archery Team) event, the 2024 USA Archery AAE Arizona Cup is also a Stage 4 Olympic Trials Qualification Event and Stage 1 Paralympic Trials Qualification Event. An additional registration is required for Paralympic Trials available here.
Stage 3 of the Olympic Trials Qualification will take place prior to the start of Arizona Cup on April 2-3.
There is an early registration fee through March 14, while coach credentials are also now available. Archers are also encouraged to book accommodation early due to other sporting events going on in the area at the same time, and to avoid rising costs. More information regarding AAE Arizona Cup can be found here.
Last year, almost 800 archers representing 45 states competed at Arizona Cup. There was also an international flavor, with athletes from Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, and Czech Republic helping make up the record-breaking attendance.
Arizona Cup began in 1989 in Tempe at Arizona State University. It moved to Tucson before returning to Phoenix in 2001. The Arizona Cup will be celebrating its 35th year in 2024.
