RALEIGH, N.C. & COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – North Carolina Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission (NCYOEC) and USA Archery have entered into a partnership, to collaboratively promote youth archery across the state through the provision and cross-promotion of archery programming and equipment grants.
“We at the Commission are thrilled to collaborate with an organization that has such a long history of promoting archery and supporting U.S. athletes,” said Justin Burr, Executive Director of NCYOEC. “We look forward to working together to expand archery accessibility across North Carolina and to support future archers.”
The partnership will focus on:
The partnership seeks to make accessing archery programming, funding and other resources a streamlined and simple process.
By working together to educate program leaders on program options and grant opportunities, we aim to maximize the visibility of available archery resources for NC educators and youth.
NCYOEC’s Trailblazers Outdoor Clubs are for middle and high schoolers looking to pursue adventurous outdoor activities, including archery.
Providing NCYOEC’s Trailblazers Outdoor Clubs with the framework to introduce archery to their club members or expand their current archery offerings will aid in the recruitment and retention of archers. In addition, Trailblazers Club advisors will be able pursue USA Archery instructor and coach certifications and utilize their club funds to purchase USA Archery equipment kits and gear.
“USA Archery is excited to announce this partnership with NCYOEC which will help to introduce and expand archery opportunities for Trailblazers Outdoor Club advisors and youth statewide who are eager to engage in outdoor learning experiences,” said Mary Emmons, USA Archery Chief of Sport Performance and Operations.
“Growing the sport remains core to USA Archery’s mission and we look forward to supporting Trailblazers participants throughout their archery journey.”
