FOLEY, Alabama – The Archery Shooters Association hosted the 2022 USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals at the Graham Creek Interpretive Center this weekend. This year’s event saw record participation from over 33 schools and more than 400 registered archers!
Recurve, compound, barebow and fixed pins archers competed in individual, team and mixed equipment events.
University of the Cumberlands continued its dominance at this event and topped the competition, bringing home the overall team gold for an impressive fifth year in a row. Lindsay Wilson College finished with silver and University of Pikeville won bronze.
Clay Weaver, a fourth-year recurve archer on the University of the Cumberlands commented: “Cumberlands has been a big part of my archery career and my life in general-to come here with this team every year is one of our favorite shoots. I’ve built a relationship with the team and I am looking forward to being a super-senior next year and winning the championship again.”
Kris Strebeck, head coach of the University of Cumberlands team added: “I’m proud of these kids-they have put in the hard work and dedication since we started this semester. This event was a goal that we set forth when we came to school in August, to get the fifth title in a row-I’m just really proud of the hard work they put in and it really kicks our season off to a good start.”
