COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – More archery clubs have been able to elevate their 3D programs thanks to the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, which awarded a 2024 grant in support of USA Archery’s club 3D target grant program to help support 3D archery at the state and local level.
Among the seven USA Archery clubs to receive a pre-set mix of Delta McKenzie 3D targets was In-Range JOAD in Richmond, Ky. Their Head Coach and Director is Chad Jones. He said, “Receiving 3D archery targets through the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund has greatly impacted In-Range JOAD by making 3D archery more accessible to our athletes.
“These opportunities allow archers to develop critical skills and confidence needed to bridge the gap from local competition to collegiate archery. Thank you for your generous support, which has inspired our athletes and elevated our program.”
The following clubs were awarded the 3D target grant:
The aim of the grant is to grow 3D archery across the country at the club and state level and it appears to have been put to good affect already.
Anna Ruggiero is the Executive Director of Charleston Archery Club. She commented, “Charleston Archery Club was so excited receive this grant to promote the experience and variety of 3D archery and to grow our membership for the club with existing 3D archers.
“We are especially looking forward to using USA Archery's 3D Achievement Program with our JOAD archers, and will be hosting fun shoots in February and March, along with a local tournament in April.”
Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charity, with 97 cents of every dollar supporting conservation efforts. Their initiatives include connecting new audiences to the outdoors, conserving wildlife and habitat, and advocating for sportsmen.
