USA Archery Offers Ann Hoyt and Jim Easton JOAD Grants for 2016

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is now accepting applications for the 2016 Ann Hoyt and Jim Easton JOAD Grant. The JOAD Grant is made possible through generous contributions from the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund and lifetime supporter of archery, Jim Easton of Easton Foundations. USA Archery is proud to be able to provide these grants to support our JOAD clubs as they facilitate a better training atmosphere and help young archers achieve higher goals.

The JOAD grants allow clubs to accomplish great goals. Alex Clamon of Palestine JOAD in Texas shared his clubs use of one of the 2015 JOAD grants: "The funds have allowed us to purchase 5 new targets, and the excess funds contributed to our acquisition of 7 new bows. The new equipment has allowed our young archers to practice in a way similar to competition. The ability to train on competition worthy equipment has made the kids more prepared and excited to travel to archery competitions."

He added: "The new target bales have allowed us to commit to hosting our first tournament, which will be held in February 2016. We are beginning to plan for an outdoor tournament this spring. Our goal is to continue to host the Intermediate camp and two tournaments a year.  Having target bales make this possible. We are excited to have equipment that allows us to grow our program!"

All current Junior Olympic Archery Development clubs in good standing are eligible and encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2016, or August 15, 2016 for fall grants.

Clubs may request up to $2,000 in grant funds for items such as target butts, stands, archery equipment, general supplies, and coaching certifications. These applications will be reviewed by USA Archery staff and the JOAD Committee. Grants are highly competitive, so please make sure your application is as thoughtful and complete as possible.
