USA Archery Announces 2015 JOAD Grant Recipients

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery is excited to announce the final round of recipients of the Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants for 2015. The Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant Program is made possible by generous contributions by archery legend Ann Hoyt and current, major supporter of youth archery, Jim Easton.

Grant applications are reviewed by the JOAD Committee and then awarded with discretion to JOAD Clubs in good standing to provide funds for items such as archery equipment and instructor and coach education to promote club development.

Congratulations to the following seven clubs that received grant funds:

  • Atlantic Cape Archery Club, LLC
  • Caddo Archery Club
  • Lionheart Academy
  • Middle Tennessee Archery
  • Palestine JOAD
  • Vermont Junior Archers
  • Wayne County JOAD

Jerri Carmichael, a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor and Club Director of Middle Tennessee Archery shared: "As a very new JOAD club, Middle Tennessee Archery is excited at the opportunities now available to our members to explore, improve and grow. With the funds awarded through the Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton Grant, we don't have to wait any longer to move into the next phase of our program!  We're ordering our new bows and AR152 Targets TODAY!!"

"We are honored to have been selected to receive the USA Archery Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grant," enthused Ron Pelkey, the President of Vermont Junior Archers JOAD and USA Archery Level 3-NTS Coach. "One of the strengths of our club is the introduction of archery as a recreational and family sport."

Ron added: "We also have a group of competitive archers who compete at regional and national events. This grant will help with equipment, but also provide a higher level of education for our staff, which will help us in training more nationally competitive archers. We are excited and energized by this award and look forward to bringing our team to JOAD Nationals!"

USA Archery was honored to distribute approximately $27,000 in Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants in 2015. For information about the JOAD Grant Program please visit the USA Archery website or email [email protected]
