BEIJING (AP) South Korea's top-seeded trio of Park Sung-hyun, Yun Ok-hee and Joo Hyun-jung coasted through the first two rounds of the Olympic women's archery tournament on Tuesday.
Khatuna Lorig also advanced, but fellow American Jennifer Nichols was ousted in the second round. Lorig, the 26th seed, moved on with a win over seventh-seeded Alison Williamson of Great Britain.
Park, Yun and Joo, who took gold in the team competition, entered the individual tournament seeded one, two and three respectively. The three easily got through the first round, before Park defeated Germany's Anja Hitzler 112-107 in the second. Yun got past Marie-Pier Beaudet of Canada 114-107 and Joo slipped by Italy's Natalia Valeeva 110-108.
Park will face 49th-seeded Elpida Romantzi of Greece in the next round.
Fourth-seeded Khatuna Narimanidze of Georgia also advanced, as did fifth-seeded Kwon Un Sil of North Korea.
Sixth seed Yuan Shu-chi of Taiwan lost 110-105 to China's Zhang Juan Juan in the second round.
