Who can compete? Any USA Archery (USAA) member, National Field Archery Association (NFAA) member or a member of any World Archery Member Association may compete. Archers must compete in Cadet, Junior or Senior age divisions. To earn USAT ranking, membership in USAA is required.
The competition begins with official practice on April 4; on April 5, senior and junior recurve archers will compete in a four distance qualification round (144 arrows) while cadet recurve, and all compound divisions, will compete in a single-distance, 72 arrow qualification round.
On April 6, open and national team rounds will take place - a fast-paced and exciting round similar to what is competed at the Olympic Games; cadet archers will also compete in individual elimination rounds on that day. Head to head matchplay for junior and senior archers will conclude the tournament and select the AAE Arizona Cup champions on April 7.
Event organizers encourage participants to register as soon as possible; over 100 entries have reportedly already been received. To learn more and register, visit http://www.arizonacup.com.
