The Level 4 Coach Certification Course develops coaches to be capable of developing high performing athletes for national and international competition.

The Level 4 Course supports the continued development of high-quality archery coaches in the USA and beyond. The course content, activities, and assessments are designed to increase a) participant understanding of the sport-specific technical details of the National Training System and b) ability to apply evidence-based how-to-coach skills to enhance skill acquisition and retention in athletes. While the course develops coaches capable of developing high performing athletes for national and international competition, the content is applicable from beginner through elite.

COURSE INFORMATION

Course Length: Approximately 75-hours

Course Format:

• Step 1: Online asynchronous course with exam
• Step 2: Four, Zoom-based sessions per week with Level 4 facilitators for 40-45 hours over 1.5 months.
• Step 3: Zoom-based practical exam

Course Cost: $650

Certification Period: Three years from the date of course completion

Attendance:

• There are attendance requirements for the Level 4 Course. Candidates should not rely on watching recordings of online sessions.

PREREQUISITES

• Be 20 years of age or older.
• Level 3 certification for 8 months or more is required to be eligible to register.
• Must complete the Level 3 Online Coach course prior to registering.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Membership to USA Archery* or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)
• USA Archery Background Screening
• U.S. Center for SafeSport Training
• Must complete the online modules for the course and pass the online exam
• Must pass a practical examination that assesses how-to-coach skills as well as technical knowledge, understanding, and application of National Training System

• The 2025 Level 4 Course will become available for registration in the Spring/Summer of 2025. USA Archery will announce when registration is open and add a button to this webpage for easy enrollment and access to the online course.
