MEDELLIN, Colombia -- The fourth and final stage of the 2022 Archery World Cup kicked off in Medellin, Colombia with the compound qualifying round. This event marks the last chance for archers to qualify for the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico this October.
Among the 266 athletes Team USA Archery is fielding a strong lineup as apparent in today’s compound qualifying line.
James Lutz stole the show today qualifying second with strong scores totaling 711. Following only three points behind was the most decorated archer in World Cup history, Braden Gellenthien, who seeded fifth with a 708.
On the women’s side, Linda Ochoa-Anderson qualified 14th with a 692. Makenna Proctor, the 19-year-old making her World Cup debut, is seeded 22nd with a 686.
The men’s team of Gellenthien, Lutz, and Tate Morgan is sitting in third behind Denmark and Korea. Ochoa-Anderson and Lutz sit fourth for the mixed team event. The women’s team with Ochoa-Anderson, Proctor and Isabella Otter sits seventh.
Results are available at archery.sport. The competition continues tomorrow with the compound team matches through bronze in the morning and the qualification rounds for the recurve archers in the afternoon. The finals will stream live this weekend on the Olympic Channel.
