The 2020 USA Archery Autumn Indoor Virtual Tournament is a wrap! Clubs from all across the country participated, representing states from Alabama to Montana, and from Massachusetts to Oregon! Even clubs from central states including Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri all submitted scores.
Congratulations are in order for the Spirit Award winner for the final USA Archery Virtual event of 2020. Vanguard Initiative of Tempe, AZ won the award for archery superheroes… by being… “themselves!” In the past year, they have participated in an MLK day hike and Canned Food Drive, a Sleep Out America Fundraiser to benefit homeless populations, and assembled care packages for residents of a local women’s shelter. From club parent and Level 1 Instructor Onnie Brown:
“This year has had an unprecedented number of obstacles thrown in everyone’s path. No matter the obstacles we at the Vanguard Initiative are dedicated to our mission of ‘enhancing lives through recreation’.”
As a prize for Spirit Award, USA Archery will send USA Archery caps to two random participants, signed by archery superheroes Brady Ellison, Casey Kaufhold, Paige Pearce and Andre Shelby. The winners, drawn randomly from Vanguard Initiative participants, are Kimanee Payne and Ron Shinn!
The results from the 2020 USA Archery Autumn Virtual Tournament can be found here. Congratulations to all winners, who will receive an award certificate for placing in the top three places in their division or in the team category.
For the first quarter of 2021 USA Archery will be rewarding one club chosen at random with a $300 gift card to Lancaster Archery Supply. Lancaster Archery Supply is a National Sponsor of USA Archery, and supports archers worldwide with a website, print catalog and retail Pro Shop based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
