COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – After a safe and successful return to competition this fall, USA Archery is looking forward to a bright 2021 event season! Mark your calendars because you will not want to miss these.
Last week, USA Archery announced a new format for Indoor Nationals, where State Championships will host local national events throughout the country as archers compete closer to home in smaller events. These events will be hosted between January and February. The top archers across all ages and locations will be invited to the annual, elite Indoor Nationals Final spotlight shootdown March 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Arizona Cup returns to kick off the 2021 USAT Event Series on April 9-11 in Phoenix, and to host the first stage of the Paralympic Trials for archery and the first stage of the World Archery Championships – U.S. Team Trials for recurve and compound. The next week, in Chandler, Arizona, the third stage of the Olympic Trials for archery narrows the field from the top sixteen men and women to just eight.
The Gator Cup, May 7-9 in Newberry, Florida, which is preceded by the final stage of compound world team trials on May 6, also hosts the second stage of Paralympic Trials and the recurve world team trials and is followed by the fourth and final nomination shoot for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials for Archery on May 10-11.
The third USAT event, the SoCal Showdown, is June 4-6 in Chula Vista, California, in a jam-packed competition week with the final recurve world team trials on June 3, the final nomination shoot for the 2020 U.S. Paralympic Trials for Archery along with the Showdown and wrapping on June 7. The U.S. Team Trials for the first ever Youth Pan American Games will also be contested on June 7.
The USAT season wraps in Dublin, Ohio for the Buckeye Classic, July 30-August 1.
The 137th USA Archery Target Nationals and U.S. Open return to Richmond, Virginia on August 18-21 and the 2020 USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals heads once again to Decatur, Alabama, July 7-11. USA Archery will also select a team for the World Archery Youth Championships from the U.S. Team Trials alongside the JOAD Target Nationals events.
Darrington, Washington will host the USA Archery Field Nationals, September 4-5.
For the Collegiate Archery Program, there are also many exciting opportunities for competition in 2021. USA Archery will continue to offer collegiate divisions at the Indoor Nationals events. Regional Target and 3D Championships will continue across the nation. The 2021 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals heads to Richmond, Virginia May 20-23 and also hosts the World University Games – U.S. Team Trials
