POREC, Croatia – The World is coming to America next summer for the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. This major multi-sport event features field archery competition for recurve and barebow archers and target competition for compound archers. A total of 100 archers will compete across these events and the 2021 European Field Championships served as the final qualification tournament.
USA Archery was allocated one spot each in the recurve and barebow men and women’s competitions as the host nation and had the opportunity to earn one additional spot with a top 10 finish at the European Field Championships. USA Archery will also qualify compound archers through host nation allocation and can earn an additional spot through the procedures outlined here. One male and one female para archer will also earn a spot to compete through host nation allocation.
Matthew Requa and Josef Scarboro both traveled to Porec, Croatia for the Final Qualification Tournament and both finished 5th, earning the maximum recurve men’s quota places for USA for Birmingham. Complete results from the competition are available here.
