As we look forward to a great Outdoor Nationals in less than two months, we are thrilled to share that the public health status in Virginia continues to improve! The governor has recently announced that they are reaching Phase 3 status earlier than anticipated, which will loosen some of the restrictions on our event.
For sporting events, this phase of reopening allows groups of 250 per field, instead of the 50 we had previously anticipated. This great news means that registration is again open for all categories and we can safely host more archers on each competition field.
Coaches and spectators are not allowed. The exception to this rule remains that minor athletes may have one parent or guardian attend on a separate, designated spectator field. Archers will not be permitted to access the venue more than one hour prior to their shooting time to provide adequate time to sanitize the venue between sessions. Archers will only be permitted at the venue during the designated shooting time for their division.
We will still be practicing social distancing, with one archer per target per shooting line and adequate spacing between target bales. We will also provide a contactless award ceremony with proper distancing. There will be no team round events, and the Annual Meeting and Athlete Safety Update will be conducted virtually.
Masks will be required in any public indoor space and are suggested when not shooting. Be aware that daily temperature checks and/or health safety surveys may be conducted.
Notes for Planning your Travel:
In the case of event cancellation, USA Archery recommends booking flights with the insurance option, looking for hotels with flexible cancellation and refund policies or that do not require pre-payment. If the event is cancelled, we will issue refunds minus a service fee beyond our control. USA Archery will not issue refunds should you choose to cancel past the cancellation deadline.
We thank you all for your support and understanding as we put these changes into place. We are so excited to see such a positive outlook for our event and can’t wait to see you all on the field again soon!
