COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Archery has announced Jonathan D. Herpy as its newest Independent Director. Herpy assumed the role previously held by Bobby Sharma, beginning January 1, 2025, and will serve through the remainder of the 2022-2025 term.
Herpy, a shareholder at the Chicago-based law firm Hart David Carson LLP, has built a reputation as one of the nation’s most sought-after private equity and corporate attorneys under 40. With a practice defined by high-stakes negotiations and strategic ingenuity, he has represented clients across industries as diverse as professional sports, technology, and consumer goods. His roster includes iconic brands such as Lululemon, Uber, Google, and Coinbase, where his guidance has driven transformative partnerships, complex deal structures and strategic initiatives.
Beyond his legal career, Herpy is a serial entrepreneur with ventures in real estate development, finance and fashion. His latest pursuit explores the cutting edge of healthcare, with a focus on longevity and anti-aging treatments - a reflection of his commitment to innovation and holistic well-being.
An avid bowhunter and supporter of CrossFit, Herpy embodies the principles of discipline and resilience. On joining the USA Archery Board, he remarked, “Archery demands focus, patience and grit. Herpy resides in Illinois with his wife Lisa and their three children, Jonathan Jr., Diana, and Mia. He brings a unique blend of professional acumen and personal passion to USA Archery, aligning with its mission to foster growth and excellence across the sport.
About the USA Archery Board of Directors
The USA Archery Board of Directors represents the interests of the USA Archery community and its athletes by providing the organization with policy, guidance, and strategic direction. The Board oversees the management of USA Archery and its affairs, but it does not manage the organization. The Board focuses on long-term objectives and impacts, empowering the Chief Executive Officer to manage a staff-driven organization with effective Board oversight.
Independent Directors shall be determined to have no material relationship with USAA, either directly or through an organization that has a material relationship with USAA. The USA Archery Nominating & Governance Committee (NG&C) selects Independent Directors.
