The 30th annual Arizona Cup kicks off the 2019 United States Archery Team (USAT) Qualifier Series this morning.
With more than 580 competitors, the 30th edition is the largest USAT event in history. The sun is shining and winds were mild for practice, so fierce competition is highly anticipated.
Archers will shoot a 72-arrow qualification round today, and will go to head to head elimination matches tomorrow. Competition Archery Media previews the competition format and what to expect in this video.
Following the selection of the recurve team for the 2019 Pan American Games and World Archery Championships, the compound and Para teams will be nominated on Monday. Today’s qualification round begins the third stage of their trials process.
