USA Archery's third annual U.S. National 3D Collegiate Championships returned again to Foley, Alabama for this fun event that is quickly becoming a collegiate favorite. Hosted with the Archery Shooters Association, the competition featured individual competition at targets of known and unknown distances, a team shoot mixer and social, a fun shootdown with a special banquet dinner and award ceremony following competitive team and mixed team rounds.
Following increased collegiate interest in 3D archery, USA Archery added Collegiate 3D Regional Championships leading up to the National Championships this year. With growing competitiveness, friendships, school pride and excitement, the event saw another participation record with 350 participants.
For the second year in a row, the University of the Cumberlands dominated the competition, locking up back to back overall national team champion titles. Head Coach Kris Strebeck commented, "I'm really proud of this team for what they were able to accomplish after putting all the work in over the last couple of weeks. This team came into this weekend with one goal in mind, to defend this National Title and that's just what they did. I couldn't be prouder of this group of athletes."
