COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Earlier this month, USA Archery announced our new appointments to the Board of Directors. The Nominations and Governance Committee selected Daren Cottle as the Independent Director, but he has since declined the position.
"I'm honored the Nominating and Governance Committee selected me for the Independent seat on the USA Archery Board of Directors," indicated Cottle. "While the Committee determined I qualify for the Independent seat, upon further review I felt I didn't fully meet the criteria outlined in the USA Archery bylaws and have therefore declined my appointment to the Board. My colleagues and I at Jas. D. Easton and the Easton Foundations remain fully committed to support USA Archery and competitive archery in the United States."
USA Archery CEO Denise Parker commented, "USA Archery is grateful for the years of support Easton and their foundations have provided and we appreciate Daren's willingness to serve. We are saddened that he will not be joining the Board of Directors at this time, but look forward to a continued positive relationship with Daren and Easton."
The Nominations and Governance Committee will continue their search for an Independent Director. Each "Independent Director" shall be determined to have no material relationship with USA Archery, either directly or through an organization that has a material relationship with USA Archery. A relationship is "material" if, in the judgment of the N&G Committee, it could interfere with the Director's independent judgment.
